From The Carolina/Sigal Music Museum

Dear Members and Supporters,

The Staff and Board of the Sigal Music Museum are working from home, continuing to create and produce quality exhibits and programming for all of our members and friends when we are able to reopen the museum. You have all been the most important part of our success and growing reputation as a national music museum, resulting in being named one of the top 3 new museums in the country by USA Today.

We are doing everything we possibly can to reduce costs, utility usage and more. We need your support now more than ever to ensure our continued survival as a new non-profit, only 2 years old this month.

There are several ways to offer your support:

Donate through our website here.

If you have visited the museum but are not yet one of our Members, please consider becoming a Member, also possible through our website here.

We can accept checks through the mail at the following address:

Please consider an Instrument Adoption. If interested in discussing this option, please contact Debra Strange at:

Included in the recently passed CARES Act are several important items for donors. Charitable Giving Tax Deduction changes include:

  • An “above-the-line” or universal charitable giving incentive for contributions made in 2020 of up to $300. This provision will now allow all non-itemizer taxpayers (close to 90% of all taxpayers) to deduct charitable contributions from their tax return, an incentive previously unavailable to them.
  • Additionally, the stimulus legislation lifts the existing cap on annual contributions for itemizers from 60 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI) to 100 percent of AGI for contributions made in 2020.
  • Learn more about these opportunities here or sign up for updates from The South Carolina Arts Alliance.

We will make the most of your generous support in the coming days.

Stay healthy and come see us when we reopen. We miss you all!
